Bucharest keeps much of its best architecture out of sight.
Away from the boulevards, in the side streets and behind the gates, the city is full of houses that rarely make it into a guidebook: Neo-Romanian arcades and carved stone, Art Nouveau ironwork, Belle Epoque stucco, quiet Art Deco curves. Most of it sits back from the pavement and disappears each summer behind lime trees and ivy.
This album collects 106 photographs of that architecture, one to a page, printed large on a square 8.5 x 8.5 inch format.
