Burleigh Pottery began making willow in 1862 and is the only pottery in the world still creating this iconic pattern using the original underglaze tissue transfer printing process. Burleigh produced Standard WIllow plus three of its variants during these 160+ years - Broseley willow, John Turner pattern and of course, Dillwyn willow which was the predominate pattern after its premier in 1924. See over 400 pictures of Burleigh china including dinnerware, suiteware, ornamentals, cheese stand, jugs and toiletware in colors ranging from the iconic blue to green, mulberry, pink, brown, black and plum. The variety of shapes they potted is what set them apart from other potteries in their day and what attracted this collector to focus her willow collection on just one pottery. Learn the fascinating history behind this legendary company. You can tour MIddleport pottery today and watch workers performing the many steps to make this wonderful china!
