There is a FROM.
Grace and the Cross — From Whence? is a discovery walk through Scripture that refuses to begin where the movement becomes visible.
The journey begins with a small word in Revelation 13:8:
FROM.
“The Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”
Instead of moving immediately toward the battle, the beast, judgment, or even the visible Cross, Ray Harthcock Sr. follows the witnesses backward and asks:
FROM WHENCE?
Along the way, Grace appears given in Christ Jesus before the world began. Purpose, love, foreknowledge, sending, giving, receiving, testimony, and the finished work begin taking their places in the court.
The witnesses lead through Revelation, the four quarters, Gog and Magog, Jesus and Barabbas, David and the stone, Peter and the sword, the waters, the mouths, the hands, and ultimately the question:
What can begin after it is finished?
This book does not attempt to settle the testimony by forcing every witness into a predetermined conclusion. It follows a simpler restraint:
LET THE HEART REMAIN GIVEN TO GOD.
LET THE TONGUE WAIT.
LET THE WITNESSES TESTIFY.
LET THE LAMB INTERPRET.
Because sometimes the battle is late.
The voice is late.
The hand is late.
And what finally becomes visible may only be exposing what was already standing before it.
Do not begin with the battle.
Follow the witnesses backward.
