Originally created in 2001, the collection combines black-and-white photography, handwritten poetry, and unconventional darkroom techniques to explore memory, relationships, identity, loss, and the intimacy of ordinary moments. The original pages have been reproduced for this 25th Anniversary Edition with their imperfections intact: uneven exposures, handwritten corrections, misalignments, and all. They are evidence of a process that required film, enlargers, developer, fixer, burning, dodging, and a great deal of patience. Twenty-five years later, the work feels both like an artifact of another era and a question for this one: What do we gain when creating becomes easier-and what is still worth making slowly, imperfectly, and by hand, even in an AI-powered era? This anniversary edition preserves the original photographic poetry collection and includes new reflections on how it was made.
