The rolled-up flag served to cover the automatic pistol with a silencer acquired legally at the shooting club due to the release by the Federal Government. The initial idea was to keep the gun in his house to defend himself from possible setbacks of the troubled life in large urban centers.
When he was unfairly fired from his job he considered selling the gun and using the money for something more worthwhile, but the buyers who came forward didn't want this transfer to be transparent. They proposed that the registration of the weapon remain in his name because they were unable to take ownership.
The business did not prosper and the weapon remained with him.
The idea arose to carry out the perfect crime that would take place in a public place with a lot of crowds. Gatherings were prohibited due to the pandemic and mandatory mask wearing for all good citizens of Brazil.
