Behind a traveling circus in rural New Hampshire, a weary clown named Buttons sits down for a quiet moment before the evening performance. Instead, he finds himself in conversation with a thirteen-year-old child carrying a suitcase and far more questions than answers.

What begins as an ordinary encounter slowly becomes something deeper. The child claims to be running away from a life where they do not belong. The clown recognizes the loneliness behind the bravado. As stories are shared and defenses begin to crumble, the two strangers discover an unsettling connection that neither can explain.
