This Malaysia Evidence Handbook with Common Objections & Evidentiary Foundations contains not only the Malaysia Evidence Act (last amended in 2012) but also an 80-page appendix (the "added value" to this book) with a 16-page section on making and responding to common objections - including a discussion of the 15 most common objections and a list of 60 common trial objections - and 60+ pages on evidentiary foundations and impeachment - including 25 examples of foundations for introducing physical, electronic, hearsay, and social media evidence, a discussion on differing standards for authenticating digital evidence, and sample impeachment transcripts. Lawyers and courts world-wide are struggling with new evidence issues created by the use of digital evidence. Cross-border sharing and borrowing approaches to such evidence can benefit all judicial systems. Although the appendix refers to the U.S. Federal Rules of Evidence, I do not suggest that those U.S. rules apply in Malaysia.
