In 1913 Rudolf Steiner developed a new movement art, called Eurythmy. Over the next seven years he and several supporters elaborated it, developing routines and giving performances all over Europe. Steiner lectured often about the new art and how it should be understood. When one of his supporters tried to represent the movements in sculpture, Steiner was motivated to sketch out 35 stylized figures, to be painted on wood. These Eurythmy Figures were produced in 1922-1923, and thereafter. In this book artist Daniel Hindes re-traces the creation process and makes a fresh set. The wooden figures from the full set are reproduced life sized, along with an extensive explanation of the history and the artistic process.
