Symphony of Silence is a seven-movement conceptual score spanning a notated duration of 7,575 years, 3 days, and 7 hours - containing exactly nine notes. Written for ad libitum instrument (with keyboard arrangement), it explores the full spectrum of structured silence: from the fff emptiness of "Dawn of Silence" through a lightspeed journey in C♭ major, an eternal 499-bar loop, a three-second waltz in G major, 101 human lifetimes of ad libitum music cycling through every key, and a singularity fugue that collapses time signatures into a black hole. Each movement is accompanied by an extended conceptual essay - part analysis, part philosophy, part comedy - that unpacks the ideas buried in the notation. Equal parts musical score, thought experiment, and long-form joke, Symphony of Silence is a work about what happens when a composer removes everything except the frame, and discovers that the frame was the music all along.
