It is a story that goes beyond the tales of famed hall of fame pitcher Eddie Plank and follows many of the town’s other less frequently mentioned local heroes like “Doc” Tate, Allie Holtzworth, Reverend Paul Reid Pontius, Ira Plank, “Hen” Bream, Roy “Punk” Mundorff and Bill Duncan who remained impassioned enthusiasts throughout their lifetimes breathing inspiration and life into the sport we all have come to know and love.
