Ninety-five per cent of the universe has not been identified, and that is exactly why you should be suspicious of anyone who arrives with an explanation.
This book has none. It declines dark matter, declines dark energy, declines the early universe, and explains the structural reason it cannot offer any of them even if it wanted to.
What it has instead: an account of time in which gravity is a gradient and clocks are the primary object; a theorem that where the clock runs slow, matter is hot, and so the deepest places in the universe are the quickest; stars read as compartments with a thermostat; and the edge of a compact object as a switch rather than a slope.
And one cosmological result, which is a defeat. The framework's own host geometry produces a spectrum with a distinctive fingerprint. That fingerprint was compared with the ripples in the microwave background, under rules fixed before the comparison, and it was excluded at ten standard deviations. The result is in the ledger in the same voice as the successes.
The last chapter is about the one number the framework has arranged to be wrong about, which a spacecraft at Mercury is measuring now.
