Awaiting You was written when my wife's return flight home was delayed and news of its imminent departure was repeatedly delayed. The piece unfolds in gentle dialogue: the violin's plaintive melody weaves above the cello's grounding lines, both voices echoing the uncertainty and hope in waiting for a loved one’s return. The interplay between melody and harmony invites performers to linger in the space between expectation and fulfillment.
